The Centre: A Language for Being

When I Heard the Learn’d Astronomer

We’re surrounded by representations of human life.

People explaining themselves, displaying themselves, measuring response. Giving advice. Producing content. Reacting. Commenting. Telling everyone what everything means.

And somewhere underneath all of it, I find myself thinking:

I just want to meet a person.

Not their content.

Not their positioning.

Not their explanation of themselves.

Them.

When I read When I Heard the Learn’d Astronomer, it reminded me of what happens when there is so much noise around being human that I start missing being human.

Sometimes I don’t want another explanation of the stars.

I just want to go outside and look at them.
